NXT Great American Bash

My WWE NXT Great American Bash 2023 Predictions

I’m somewhat late but still making it in before the event so here’s my predictions for this Premium Live Event.

NXT Championship Match: Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. Ilja Dragunov

I actually really like both guys in this match, I’d say both are ready for main roster call ups too. In saying that, with all the teases we’ve had from Lashley speaking with both Trick and Melo, we need both those guys on the main roster in this new faction.

Ilja is also well deserving of an NXT Championship win, so I personally think this is his time.

My Pick: Ilja Dragunov

NXT North American Championship Triple Threat Match: Dirty Dom (c) (with Rhea Ripley) vs. Wes Lee vs. Mustafa Ali

This is a tough one to pick. Dom will have Rhea there to help him cheat, ratings having been way up with him on the show, and he has great heat so I could see him retaining. At the same time, I can see either Wes pinning Ali or vice versa, winning the title without Dom being involved.

Ali has been pretty sly in this whole North American title feud so I feel Wes Lee will have it won when Ali comes in to steal the win.

My Pick: Mustafa Ali

NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Gallus (c) vs. The D’Angelo Family (Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and Tony D’Angelo)

This has been such a great story driven feud and people have been calling for the D’Angelo family to hold tag team gold for a while now. The story of Tony D going to jail, Stacks tricking their enemies to get him out then securing the title shot is better booked than most main roster feuds.

Gallus just aren’t interesting (not their fault as they haven’t been given much character development in NXT US) so it’s about time we had new tag champs and no one better than our favorite NXT mobsters.

My Pick: Tony D and Stacks

NXT Women’s Championship Submission Match: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Thea Hail

I’m a huge Chase U fan so I’d love for Thea Hail to win and make NXT history. In saying that, Tiffany hasn’t had a very long run and I feel they are making it look like there’s no chance for her to win since we haven’t seen her use a submission move.

I could be wrong (which I’d be happy with) but I think we’ll see a new layer to Tiffany’s in ring work and see her introduce a new submission finisher.

My Pick: Tiffany Stratton

Weapons Wild Match: Roxanne Perez vs. Blair Davenport

Since losing her NXT Women’s Championship I can’t help but feel Roxanne Perez has felt a bit lost. Her talent and potential are still undeniable, but she just hasn’t been booked with that important like she was prior to the angle of fainting and being stripped of the title.

I believe this is somewhat a way to show a new layer of her character and get her back on track to being a 2 time NXT Women’s Champion.

My Pick: Roxanne Perez

Gable Steveson vs. Baron Corbin

This is honestly one of my most anticipated matches of the night. I’ve been eager to see what Gable Steveson can do in the ring and based on what we have seen in the last month or so, I think he’ll have great potential.

With it being so close to the Olympics and Gable not actually saying straight up he’s staying in WWE, I think he’ll have one match to shut the critics up then go on to make history at the Olympics before committing to WWE full time. For now, I can see him getting a fast decisive win over Baron Corbin to show the WWE Universe he means business.

My Pick: Gable Steveson
