The Hits and Misses of Monday Night Raw 2021 05 10
As always there’s parts of Raw I really enjoyed and others not so much. Rather than a full summary, I thought I’d briefly go over what I liked and disliked from the show.
The Eight Man Tag
This was probably one of my favorite matches and it had nothing to do with the actual wrestling. All of these guys are serious competitors but they also know how to make people laugh.
The funniest of all was R-K-Bro. Riddle is like an annoying little brother to Randy and although you can see him trying not to laugh at times, he’s playing the angry act quite well!
Towards the end when Randy hit the R-K-O on the New Day, I was waiting in anticipation to see if Riddle would end up eating one too and I was actually surprised when he didn’t.
If you listen the above Podcast episode from The Kurt Angle Show it was interesting to hear Orton praise Riddle a lot and even admit to hating him at first for not showing respect when they first met.
Asuka Deserves Better?
When it came down to Asuka vs Rhea Ripley, the latter came out on top. Now Rhea is the champ so it’s not out of place for her to win, but considering Charlotte was there and playing the distraction we could have given the win to Asuka.
Even Bayley had several losses during non title matches so for Asuka to win this one match wouldn’t discredit Rhea. Asuka wasn’t just a transitional champ, she was a formidable one that shouldn’t be losing every match just because there’s a new champ.
Give Him a Break
Now don’t get me wrong, I really like Damian Priest but I personally feel he should have put over Morrison rather than this happening.
He’s beaten both Miz and Morrison countless times now so if he has a loss due to interference it won’t make him look weak. I know this was purely so they can build tension between Miz and Morrison and set the stipulation but I feel it could have been done better.
Braun Is Finally Being Booked Better
After being booked so poorly for years I feel Braun is finally being booked the way he deserves. Last week we seen Drew dominate, this week Braun.
In saying that, I do believe this means that Lashley will come out on top at WrestleMania Backlash. It’s typical for WWE to book the opponents strong heading into the PPV so they don’t look as weak when they lose.
