The Highs and Lows of Friday Night Smackdown 2021 05 14

Once again another week of Smackdown and I found it to be a decent episode but nothing really blew me away. Here I’ll go over some brief thoughts on what I did and didn’t enjoy from the episode.

The New Champs

Tamina and Natalia have really been proving their worth on Smackdown recently so it’s good to see it finally pay off for them!

It was a decent match and I feel it was a nice touch to have Tamina get the pin considering she’s never held a major title. You could really see the genuine joy and the only shame is she had to wait this long in her career to get it.

Cesaro Continues to Dominate

Another week had passed and once again Cesaro managed to dominate the Tribal Chief and his cousins.

I think they are trying to book him super strong just so that when Roman beats him, he can really look like the G.O.A.T and an unstoppable force. It’s quite a shame too as I doubt there’s many people out there who wouldn’t love to see Cesaro get a title run, even if it’s short lived.

King Shinsuke

Although it wasn’t anything major, I really liked the brief match and following promos by Shinsuke Nakamura. He declared the return of King of Strong Style, a moniker he was once known by.

It’s good to see him booked better and although it’s unlikely, maybe he’ll finally get that World Title run he deserved a long time ago.

Bigger and Better Things

Now I personally love Triple Threat and Fatal 4 Way matches which I’ve mentioned many times now. This preview of next weeks match did look interesting but it also disappointed me.

Big E needs to move on to bigger and better things which would be the universal title. My guess is they are trying to have Roman break Lesnar’s streak (which IMO shouldn’t exist since he was part time). I feel like once he has broken it, only then will someone beat him and I certainly hope Big E is the one to do so.

Nobody’s Bitch

Jimmy Uso showed up again and was once again defiant when it came to acknowledging Roman Reigns. He was honestly getting his ass beat by Cesaro but still didn’t appreciate Roman stepping in.

I’ve read WWE filed a trademark for the term “Nobody’s Bitch” which is pretty funny and who knows, maybe that will be my next shirt!
