My WWE Fastlane 2023 Predictions

I’ll be honest, I’m not really excited for this Premium Live Event.

I personally like a card with more matches that are shorter than one with less matches that are longer and drawn out like we’ve seen recently. Ideally give me a 10 minute action packed match rather than something 20 minutes full of rest holds or someone laying there while another wrestler just talks smack.

Although there’s a chance it could surprise me, I expect this to be the weakest PLE of this year. Regardless of that, below you can find my predications.

World Heavyweight Championship – Seth Rollins (c) vs Shinsuke Nakamura

This feud hasn’t really appealed to me and it isn’t due to Seth. Outside of his entrance, I’ve never really been interested in Shinsuke. When he was teamed with Rick Boogs and stealing KOTR from Corbin it was probably his peak for me but since then, I’ve found him not that interesting. I would be very surprised if he actually won this so it’s not too hard for me to pick a winner.

My Pick: Seth Rollins

John Cena & LA Knight vs The Bloodline (Jimmy Uso & Solo Sikoa)

This one is a bit tough to pick as Bloodline matches usually end the same way every time, ref down then interference. With their new partnership with JD, maybe we’ll see someone like JD McDonagh interfere to assist the Bloodline with LA Knight taking the pin. I could also see the babyfaces winning clean as well. A win here could help setup a match for Saudi so my pick would be Jimmy Uso getting pinned to setup a match for the winner at the Saudi event.

My Pick: LA Knight (getting the pin) and John Cena

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship – The Judgment Day (Finn Balor & Damian Priest) (c) vs. Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso

I personally don’t expect anything big to happen with this. Triple H has an announcement on SmackDown next Friday so I am guessing the winners of this match will be getting the Undisputed Tag Titles with a new set of World Heavyweight Tag Titles being introduced on the other show. I personally think there’s more of a chance of JD coming out on top with all the help they have so it’s a pretty easy pick for me.

My Pick: Judgement Day

WWE Women’s Championship – Iyo Sky (c) vs Asuka vs Charlotte Flair

This and the below match are the only ones I’m actually interested in. I feel like Iyo has much more story to tell as champ and I’m liking her reign so far so I’d really like to see her retain. Also the fact a triple threat is no DQ makes me think Damage Control will get involved. In terms of who takes the pin, they seem to always use Asuka for this but I’d love for Asuka to have Charlotte beat when Iyo quickly takes out Asuka to get the pin on Charlotte.

My Pick: Iyo Sky

Latino World Order vs Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits

I’m really liking this new stable Lashley is building so it’s pretty easy for me to pick them, but I think them winning makes room to tell more of a story. Now as we seen on SmackDown, we likely will get replacements for Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde which I think will be Carlito or Dragon Lee. Now what I’d like to happen is one of the two scenarios

  • Rey picks Dragon Lee and Carlito to be in the match with him, which annoys Santos who then interferes in Lashely’s favor which causes him to split from Rey. He takes Del Toro and Wilde with him going back to being Legado del Fantasma, then LWO would be Rey, Carlito and Dragon with those two groups feuding and Zelina not knowing who to side with or
  • it’s Rey picking Santos and Dragon/Carlito but miscommunication happens during the match, Santos gets friendly fire and takes the pin which angers him. Then with Santos annoyed, Del Toro and Wilde are also not happy with missing out plus losing so they split and go heel to the same as scenario as above

Both scenarios pretty much lead to the same winner for me.

My Pick: Lashley and The Street Profits
