For years I’ve only ever played the WWE 2K games on PC but as I’m trying to use my PS5 (and soon to be Pro) a lot more, I thought I’d try get it on PS5 while it was on sale.
I recorded this for fun using the PS5’s native game capture which sadly only does 1080p in MP4, I’m used to my PC recording the native output resolution which is 1440p for my PC monitor and in much higher quality than what the PS5 can do.
When it comes to the game itself, I’d say gameplay wise this is one of the best games since I started playing them again (WWE 2K20 onwards). Trading blows, chain wrestling, the gauntlet mode and the much needed down time setting are game changers. I like to do multi man matches so that downtime setting helps so much as I found in 2K24 and earlier, your opponents would just never stay down which made matches excessively long and annoying.
In terms of the roster, I would say it’s one of the weakest games to date. There’s no Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley, Edge and many others which leaves it bare of a lot of guys I liked to either play against or as. Graphics wise the game does look quite nice on PS5 but this video doesn’t do it any justice due to me not having a proper capture card (something I’m interested in).
Despite enjoying it, I’ll likely give it a break so I can finish Donkey Kong Bananza before Mafia The Old Country comes out.
