Once again I’m back with another post.
WWE SummerSlam is over for both nights and here are my ratings for night two.
How My Ratings Work
So what I generally do is 10 divided by the amount of matches. In this instance, we had 6 matches so it would be 10 divided by 6 which is 1.66. 1.66 works like 10/10 or a more detailed breakdown can be seen below:
- 1.66 is a 4/4 match, the best you can get
- 1.25 is a 3/4 match, a very good match but not the best you can get
- 0.83 is a 2/4 match, so 50% rating that means the match is very avergage
- 0.41 is a 1/4 match, just plain boring bad.
Below are my ratings for the show.
Match | Rating |
---|---|
Women’s World Championship – Naomi (c) vs. Iyo Sky vs. Rhea Ripley | 0.82 |
WWE Tag Team Championship – Wyatt Sicks (c) vs. DIY vs. Street Profits vs. Fraxiom vs. Motor City Machine Guns vs. Andrade & Rey Fenix (TLC match) | 1.66 |
Women’s Intercontinental Championship – Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lyra Valkyria | 0.41 |
United States Championship – Solo Sikoa (c) vs. Jacob Fatu (Steel Cage match) | 0.41 |
Intercontinental Championship – Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. AJ Styles | 0.82 |
Undisputed WWE Championship – John Cena (c) vs. Cody Rhodes (Street fight) | 1.66 |
Total | 5.78 |
You may be thinking the rating is quite low for a very decent event but that’s because the highs (opening matches and main event) are pull down by the rest of the matches.
The women’s World Title match was enjoyable but nowhere near as strong as the one with Bianca at Mania. Plus Naomi is the world champ so she should be able to get a proper pinfall victory over Rhea, not just a roll up. The TLC match was pretty much perfect for me, lots of insane spots but super enjoyable and I would have loved for The Street Profits to win but I don’t hate the Wyatt’s retaining.
I’m very bored of the Becky Lyra feud and same for Jacob Solo, they’re both dragged out way beyond when they should finish. Like the Women’s World Title match, the men’s IC match was enjoyable with the funny spots and Dom’s unique way of winning but not my favorite match of the night by far.
Last but not least is the main event where it was great to see fans fully behind Cena, I was actually shocked to hear Cody get booed. Cena really gave it all in this match and it showed, I’d dare say this is the best match so far of his retirement tour. Brock returning was honestly a shock too but once you heard that pop, you knew the fans were nothing but happy for him to return.
The highlights of both nights would undoubtedly be the cash in, the TLC match and the whole main event of night two.
