How I Would Rate SummerSlam 2025 Night One

Now that the event is fully over, I thought I’d share my rating and how I found the event.

How My Ratings Work

So what I generally do is 10 divided by the amount of matches. In this instance, we had 6 matches so it would be 10 divided by 6 which is 1.66. 1.66 works like 10/10 or a more detailed breakdown can be seen below:

  • 1.66 is a 4/4 match, the best you can get
  • 1.25 is a 3/4 match, a very good match but not the best you can get
  • 0.82 is a 2/4 match, so 50% rating that means the match is very avergage
  • 0.41 is a 1/4 match, just plain boring bad.

Below are my ratings for the show.

MatchRating
Roman Reigns & Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed1.25
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships – The Judgment Day (Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez) (c) vs. Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair0.82
Randy Orton & Jelly Roll vs. Drew McIntyre & Logan Paul1.25
WWE Women’s Championship – Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill0.41
Sami Zayn vs. Karrion Kross0.41
World Heavyweight Championship – Gunther (c) vs. CM Punk1.6
Total5.74/10

Overall I don’t think the show was anything special outside of the cash in. The opening tag match started off strong despite Bron losing and Theory (sadly) not appearing to help. The middle matches were quite lackluster and boring, I was happy to see Charlotte and Alexa win but I feel the match itself wasn’t that strong. I like Tiffy and don’t really care about Jade so I’m fine with Tiffy retaining, the only reason I can see for Jade to be champ is for Bianca to take it from her.

The celebrity tag match was actually good, huge respect to Jelly Roll for taking that frog splash on the table as that would have been horrible. I also found the Gunther Punk match to be quite boring until the last 5 minutes and of course the cash in made the match have the perfect rating I gave it.

I had believed all along that Seth’s knee was a work, the way he landed in that LA Knight match was too perfect and if anyone could fake a knee injury, it’s him. I was telling friends for a while it was easy to fake and even said the below comment 18 days ago.

I do feel for Punk though, you could tell that those tears were genuine, and he was so happy to have the title after all these years, so I hope he gets a proper run with the title. I’m looking forward to tomorrow night and we’ll see what happens long term. Also hoping Bron isn’t injured…
