Giving Into Temptation of the PlayStation 5 Pro

When the PS5 Pro launched I never really considered purchasing it but that has changed recently.

I was a console player for most of my life although once I got a bit older and could afford to build a decent PC, I started to jump between systems. In recent years I’ve been mostly playing on PC for multi platform games for one simple reason, price.

As much as I love (and prefer) playing on the couch, games on PC are just generally cheaper thanks to keys from sites like Green Man Gaming. In saying that, the appeal of Sony (for me at least) is its first party titles which they are quite a few. Many 1st party Sony titles like Ghost of Tsushima are now on PC but you’d need to wait years for that to happen.

From what I’ve seen, first party games are generally best optimized for the Pro console going forward which makes it seem like a good decision. Two upcoming games that I plan on getting are Ghost of Yotei which is confirmed to have PS5 Pro enhancements, along with GTA VI which is rumored to be optimal on the PS5 Pro thanks to Sony engineers assisting Rockstar with the games production.

I’m also planning to get Mafia The Old Country which hasn’t specified if the game will be optimized for the PS5 Pro but doesn’t hurt to have it. The other reason why I’m considering it is the trade in offers which make it an easier purchase cost wise.

At this point I’m essentially just trying to convince myself but I don’t think I can talk myself out of it, the Pro is just too tempting.
