A Better Look at Climate & Seasons in Cities: Skylines II

Another week and we have another feature highlight for Cities: Skylines II which is focused on Climate and Seasons.

Rather than something long winded I thought I’d give a quick summary over things I noticed.

  • Tornados look insane in a good way
  • Every 24 hours in game is a month so seasons are fairly quick
  • Biffa said the length is good and doesn’t feel rushed
  • Weather can effect the economy
  • Climate is based on latitude and longitude
  • If you were in a polar area you have short summers and long winters
  •  1 real hour is 24 hours in game
  • Activities are based on weather so in storms/winter Sims may be less active
  • It appears you can’t disable day night cycle or seasons
  • Hail storms look great
  • Parked cars can be seen covered in snow
  • Maps are inspired by real world locations
  • Structures can be damaged by bad weather
  • If you hover over icons it will explain what the issue is

Next week will be about Economy & Production which I’m expecting to be more full of info.
