Recently I had posted about some games I was looking forward to this year like 007 First Light, the new Fable game and of course Grant Theft Auto VI but with some announcements along with new games coming to my attention, things are looking even better.
Aside from the aforementioned games, below are some of the other games I’m really looking forward to.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection
Montser Hunter is a series that’s been around for ages but something I’ve never really played outside of a tiny demo. Not sure what it is about the other games but they’ve never interested me although MHS3 definitely looks different.
The art style gives it much more of a Ni No Kuni/Zelda style which instantly drew me in with both the story and battle system looking excellent as well. Since this is one of many games out in March, it won’t be as higher priority for me, but I’ll definitely be getting it at some point this year.
Pokemon Pokopia
Ever since the first trailer, Pokémon Pokopia has had my interest due to how much it looks like Animal Crossing with a Pokémon spin on it. Being that this game is the first to come out of all of the ones on this page, it’s the one I’ll most likely be getting first and focusing on.
These types of games are really long term games and not something you finish the story on and move on but previews so far are really positive and make it seem like it will be a huge hit.
Kena: Scars of Kosmora
The first game, Kena: Bridge of Spirits was such a fantastic game, excellent story and visually looked like you were playing a Pixar movie. I remember reading that the developers only intended Kena to be a single title and not a series but thankfully they realised what they had and have decided to make a sequel.
This only has a release window of 2026 with no set date, but it will be a priority for me to play when it does release, even if it comes out near GTA.
Crimson Desert
In all honestly Crimson Desert looks like it could be too good to be true. It appears to have taken so many elements from other games but has blended them well together.
I’ll more than likely keep my eye on reviews to see how much it lives up to expectations but even if it gets a 7 or 8, I think I’ll still give it a try.
