10 Years in the Making
So after nearly 10 years of studying part time, I’ve finally finished my course and can officially say I have a Bachelor of Commerce! This included changing from Psych to Commerce, a few major switches and a 2 year break to save for my move to Sydney.
It’s quite surreal to think I’ve finally finished as I was told in high school uni wasn’t even a possibility for me. My Mom who sadly isn’t alive to witness my graduation didn’t think I would be able to attend uni either. Back in high school (and even now) I really hated studying and find it such a waste of time. I really wanted to drop out in year 10 and just work but wasn’t allowed to, so I just did nothing at school and continuously scraped by grades wise.
If I could go back I would definitely drop out, do Tafe and work part time then start uni once I hit 20. By the time I graduate, I would have been more qualified and had better work experience too. I’m in a much better place now but it can be annoying to think of the possibilities if I was allowed to have more of a say in my future.
Moving on from that, I’ve had to postpone my graduation until later in the year as my uni is in Perth and with the border closures, I won’t be able to make it back for the Feb graduation. Now I just need to wait for that to happen and enjoy the uni free life in the mean time.
